ATLANTA – The Georgia Lottery Corporation today announced the launch of King Kong, a new instant game with King Kong-sized prizes including a half-million dollar top prize. Play King Kong for $5, and win up to a whopping $500,000. King Kong tickets go on sale statewide today (Nov. 15).
The Georgia Lottery celebrated the launch of King Kong at the Georgia Dome during halftime of the Atlanta Falcons game on Nov. 13. The Georgia Lottery unveiled the "World's Largest Lottery Ticket," setting a world record. Also, Cynthia Catchings of Conyers won a once-in-a-lifetime trip to New York for the Dec. 5 red carpet world premiere of the upcoming movie King Kong.
"I'm so excited," said Mrs. Catchings. "I love New York." Mrs. Catchings is a mother of two and grandmother of four.
In conjunction with the instant game King Kong, the Georgia Lottery is conducting the exciting statewide promotion Where's Kong starting Dec. 14.
To play the instant game King Kong, scratch off the entire play area. Find a "KONG" symbol and win the PRIZE shown for that symbol. Find an "AIRPLANE" symbol and win DOUBLE the PRIZE shown for that symbol. Find a "T-REX" symbol and instantly win $50. Win up to 15 times! Players can win a free ticket, $10, $15, $20, $25, $30, $35, $50, $75, $100, $150, $250, $500, $1,000, $5,000, $15,000 or the $500,000 top prize. Overall odds for King Kong are 1 in 3.98.
Prizes up to $599 can be claimed at any location where lottery instant tickets are sold. Players who win prizes over $599 may claim their winnings at one of the seven Georgia Lottery district offices. These are located in Dalton, Duluth, Columbus, Macon, Augusta, Thomasville, Savannah, and at the GLC headquarters in Atlanta. Winners can also mail a completed claim form, along with the signed winning ticket, to the GLC headquarters.
Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corporation has returned over $7.8 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs including Georgia's HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia's Prekindergarten Program. More than 900,000 students have received HOPE Scholarships, and more than 700,000 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
