ATLANTA – An Augusta woman is cruising in style after winning a brand new car. Shirley White played the Georgia Lottery instant game Corvette Cash and won a Chevrolet Corvette Convertible.
Super Mini Mart, located at 1812 Lumpkin Rd. in Augusta, sold the lucky ticket.
According to Mrs. White, she scratched the ticket in the store and began yelling. "I was really surprised!" she says.
Mrs. White, 53, works in food service for the Richmond County Board of Education. She and her husband, Coley, have one son.
Mrs. White selected her brand-new Corvette Convertible in Monterey Red Metallic.
Corvette Cash is a $3 game with prizes up to $75,000 and the chance to instantly win one of 10 Chevrolet Corvette Convertibles. The Georgia Lottery will pay required minimum federal and state tax withholding, sales tax, tag and title fees for each vehicle prize winner.
Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corporation has returned over $8.2 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs including Georgia's HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia's Prekindergarten Program. More than 900,000 students have received HOPE Scholarships, and more than 700,000 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
