Lucky Cash 3 and Cash 4 Numbers Fall; Lotto South Check Awarded ATLANTA - It's been a winning week for Georgia Lottery players with huge payouts on popular games. Within a three-day period, "triples" were drawn in Cash 3 and "quads" fell in Cash 4. The following day a check was presented to a Lotto South jackpot winner. This extraordinarily special lucky streak has added up to over $21 million for Georgia Lottery players. "These last few days have been phenomenal for our players," said Georgia Lottery President and CEO Margaret DeFrancisco. "It's exciting to see players having so much fun with our games. It's just as rewarding to know that the students of Georgia benefit with every lottery dollar raised." When 1-1-1 fell in the midday Cash 3 drawing on Friday, June 24, lottery players won $8,115,500. The winning numbers were chosen by more than 21,000 players. The top prize for a Cash 3 $1 play is $500. The top prize for a 50 cents play is $250. Cash 4 players won $8 million when 2-2-2-2 fell during the evening drawing on Monday, June 27. More than 2,200 players selected the winning numbers. The top prize for a Cash 4 $1 play is $5,000. The top prize for a 50 cents play is $2,500. Albert Davenport, a Columbus resident, was one of the lucky players to win $5,000 on Cash 4. According to Mr. Davenport, 42, he will "pay a few bills" with his winnings. "Georgia Lottery players continue to enjoy Cash 3 and Cash 4," said Mrs. DeFrancisco. "Cash 3 and Cash 4 are both very exciting games with great prize levels." The city of Americus celebrated on Tuesday, June 28, when Mrs. DeFrancisco presented a check to the newest Lotto South jackpot winner. James Terrell Turner, a resident of Americus, matched all six numbers in the June 18 Lotto South drawing and won the $9 million jackpot. Mr. Turner pre-selected the cash option and received $4,965,358 before taxes. Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corporation has returned over $7.4 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs.
