ATLANTA - Transport company driver Thomas Korzec has always considered himself to be a lucky man. This was confirmed when recently he won $80,000 playing Lucky Hand, a Georgia Lottery instant game.
Mr. Korzec immediately went to a Georgia Lottery retailer to verify that the ticket was a top prize winner.
The 28-year-old Grovetown resident will use his winnings to pay bills. The prize will also allow him to take his first trip on an airplane, although Mr. Korzec is still deciding between traveling to Colorado or Hawaii. Mr. Korzec feels that the money will “help me personally as well as my family.”
Mr. Korzec purchased the winning ticket at Cisco Travel Plaza II. The store is located at 491 St. Marys Road in Kingsland.
Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corporation has returned over $7.4 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs. These include Georgia’s HOPE scholarship program; a statewide, voluntary pre-kindergarten program for four-year-olds; and a wide range of technological and capital upgrades for the state’s schools, technical institutes, colleges, universities and public libraries.
