ATLANTA – East Point resident Ronald Peeler is an avid music collector who can now tap his feet to the rhythm of a lottery win. Mr. Peeler bought a ticket for the Feb. 7 Mega Millions drawing and won 250,000 by matching five out of five white balls.
The winning numbers for the Feb. 7 Mega Millions drawing were: 2-16-25-30-48 and the Mega Ball was 26.
The 55-year-old found out that he was a winner when he got a printout of the winning numbers. “I started dancing,” Mr. Peeler describes.
Mr. Peeler, a distribution clerk, looks forward to enjoying his winnings.
Lee’s Drive In Grocery sold the winning ticket. It is located at 2717 Sylvan Rd. in East Point.
As with all other Georgia Lottery games, proceeds from Mega Millions will benefit education in the state of Georgia. Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corporation has returned over $8 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs including Georgia's HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia's Prekindergarten Program. More than 900,000 students have received HOPE Scholarships, and more than 700,000 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
