ATLANTA – Donald Hargrove of Brookfield scratched his way to $150,000 playing Giant Jumbo Bucks, a Georgia Lottery instant game.
Hargrove, 44, decided to play the game after winning a free Ruby Red 7’s ticket. He is an AutoZone store manager.
Whigham Country Store, 248 W. Broad St., in Whigham sold the lucky ticket.
"I had to double check," the father of two said. "This feels great."
His wife, Pam, was ecstatic.
"She’s still shaking," he said. "She couldn’t believe it."
With his winnings, Hargrove plans to pay off bills.
Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corporation has returned over $8.8 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs including Georgia's HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia's Prekindergarten Program. More than 1 million students have received HOPE, and more than 790,000 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
