ATLANTA – A Dalton man won $50,000 playing the Georgia Lottery instant game Jumbo Bucks Classic.
Salvador Arias-Rivas, 31, purchased the winning ticket from Kangaroo Express, 2800 S. Dixie Highway, Dalton.
"It was my big day," said Arias-Rivas, a driver at a local warehouse. "I put the ticket in my pocket and went to work."
He plans to take a vacation, but doesn’t yet know where, he said.
"I consider myself lucky," he said. "Winning $50,000 is a lot of money."
Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corporation has returned over $8.8 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs including Georgia's HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia's Prekindergarten Program. More than 1 million students have received HOPE, and more than 790,000 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
