ATLANTA – A Kennesaw man plans to share a $1 million top prize from the instant game $300 Million Gold Rush with his three daughters.
Donald Morris, 60, purchased the winning ticket from CITGO Food Shop, 3930 George Busbee Parkway, Kennesaw.
“I scratched the ticket in the parking lot,” said Morris, who is retired from General Motors. “When I found out that I’d won, I jumped out of the truck and ran back in the store to tell them I’d won $1 million.”
Morris, who has three daughters and two grandchildren, said he plans to share the money.
“I’ll just divide it by four and split it with my daughters,” he said.
Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corporation has returned over $8.8 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs including Georgia's HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia's Prekindergarten Program. More than 1 million students have received HOPE, and more than 790,000 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
