ATLANTA – Roxanne Howard of Macon bought the Georgia Lottery instant game ticket, 2 of Hearts, and won a $14,000 top prize.
The ticket was purchased at CITGO Food Mart, 1803 Pionono Ave., Macon.
Howard, 35, scratched the ticket while inside of the store.
"I was excited, and my family was happy when I told them I’d won," she said.
Howard and her husband, James, have three children. With the money, she plans to put down payments on a car and a home.
Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corporation has returned over $8.8 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs including Georgia's HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia's Prekindergarten Program. More than 1 million students have received HOPE, and more than 790,000 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
