ATLANTA – Curtis Fennell, a 40-year-old Sparks resident, is a big winner in the lottery. Fennell played the Georgia Lottery instant game 10X The Money and won a $40,000 top prize.
He decided to stop at Quick Stop #0002, 106 Highway 82 East in Enigma, on a lucky hunch.
"When I saw that I'd won, I didn't know how to react," he said. "I just knew that it felt good to win."
Fennell, a student at Moultrie Technical College, plans to pay bills and will buy gifts for his 10-year-old daughter.
"This will be a great addition during Christmas," he shared.
Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corporation has returned over $9.5 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs including Georgia's HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia's Prekindergarten Program. More than 1 million students have received HOPE, and more than 850,000 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
