ATLANTA – A Brunswick housekeeper is celebrating a $100,000 Georgia Lottery win. Beverly Jones played the instant game Millionaire Super 7's and won a $100,000 top prize.
Bunky's Sunoco, located at 2803 Glynn Ave. in Brunswick, sold the lucky ticket. Jones scratched her ticket in the store.
"I screamed and yelled and went crazy," she said.
Jones, 41, is a mother of four. Her first grandchild is due on Christmas Day.
"The first thing I'm going to do is pay off the car I bought in April," she said. "Then I'm going to make sure my kids are happy. They're going to get whatever they want for Christmas."
Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corporation has returned over $9.5 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs including Georgia's HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia's Prekindergarten Program. More than 1 million students have received HOPE, and more than 850,000 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
