ATLANTA – A man who stopped for a Quik Pik ticket won a quarter-million dollar prize in the lottery. Dan Kinard, 57, matched the first five winning numbers in the Oct. 19 Mega Millions drawing and won $250,000.
Villa Rica Amoco, 650 W. Bankhead Highway in Villa Rica, sold the lucky ticket. The winning numbers from the Oct. 19 Mega Millions drawing were: 5-15-18-23-46 and the Mega Ball was 14. A friend checked his ticket and shared the good news.
"I started screaming," said Kinard, a physical rehabilitation case manager. "It's a lot of fun to win the lottery."
A resident of Vestavia Hills, Ala., Kinard said he plans to save his winnings and pay bills.
"It's nice to have that security," he shared. "I feel great."
