ATLANTA – A construction consultant has assembled a lucky Georgia Lottery win. Al Johnston was randomly selected in the Nov. 16 Georgia's Millionaire Club drawing, winning $5,000 and a chance at $10 million.

Johnston, 56, received a call from Georgia Lottery officials with the news Monday morning.

"I went silent for a couple of seconds," he said. "It was amazing."

Georgia's Millionaire Club weekly drawings are held in conjunction with the instant game Georgia's $500 Million Club. Each weekly Georgia's Millionaire Club winner will receive $5,000 and become a finalist in the Extra Chance $10 Million Grand Prize Drawing.

A resident of Jacksonville, Fla., Johnston is the father of two teenage children. He will use his $5,000 prize for his children's school tuition and to pay bills. He's also looking forward to the $10 million drawing.

"It's a pleasure to be a part of this. I'm pretty excited about it," he said.

Players can mail in a non-winning Georgia's $500 Million Club ticket to enter the Georgia's Millionaire Club drawings. Complete the back of the ticket, add a stamp, and mail the ticket as a postcard. The Georgia Lottery will conduct a weekly drawing from all entries received that week. Weekly drawings will be broadcast as a part of the Cash 3 evening drawings each Friday at 6:59 p.m.

Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corporation has returned over $9.5 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs including Georgia's HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia's Prekindergarten Program. More than 1 million students have received HOPE, and more than 850,000 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
