ATLANTA – A Grovetown car salesman has driven into a lottery win. Carlton Lavallee, 44, won a $40,000 top prize playing 10X The Money, a Georgia Lottery instant game.
Lavallee purchased the winning ticket at A & S Market, 317 E. Robinson Ave. in Grovetown. He scratched it in the store.
"I almost fell out," he said. "Now I feel good, really good."
The father of one 15-year-old son said he plans to refurnish his apartment. He will save the remainder of his winnings toward his son’s college education.
"I feel pretty lucky," he shared. "I really do."
Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corporation has returned over $9.7 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs including Georgia's HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia's Prekindergarten Program. More than 1 million students have received HOPE, and more than 860,000 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
