ATLANTA – A Fort Gaines man has been jolted by a Georgia Lottery win. David Bryant, 66, played Electric 7s, an instant game, and won $27,777.
“It feels great,” Bryant exclaimed.
H&K Groceries, located at 309 Eufala Road in Fort Gaines, sold the top prize ticket. Bryant scratched the ticket in the store.
“I got weak in the legs,” he said.
Bryant, who works in maintenance at an apartment complex, is married with two children and two grandchildren.
He plans to treat himself to something practical, but his wife may be in for an extra special treat.
“I’ll probably buy myself a few more tools,” he said. “I think I’m going to buy my wife another car.”
Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corp. has returned more than $12.1 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs, including Georgia’s HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia’s Pre-K Program. More than 1.25 million students have received HOPE, and more than 1 million 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
