ATLANTA – For months, a jackpot-winning Fantasy 5 ticket from the Sept. 24 drawing went unnoticed. Luckily, Robert Graham of Snellville recently found it tucked away in a brown bag.
Graham, 59, matched all five winning numbers in the Sept. 24 Fantasy 5 drawing, winning the $67,553 jackpot prize. Winning numbers from the drawing were: 9-14-16-26-36.
He purchased the ticket at CITGO Food Mart, 2595 Highpoint Road in Snellville, using his own lucky combination.
“Any numbers that I play, I throw them in a bag and that’s where I threw it,” he explained. “I got lucky.”
While at home last week, Graham decided to go through the bag and check his numbers on the Georgia Lottery’s website.
“I just couldn’t believe it. I took a deep breath,” he said. “It was meant to be, and I’m grateful for it.”
The grandfather of three anticipates taking advantage of his newfound win.
“I will pay the bills and invest the remainder,” he shared. “I may splurge a little.”
Winners have 180 days from the draw date to claim prizes.
Georgia Lottery retailers selling winning Fantasy 5 jackpot tickets receive a retailer incentive bonus of $2,000. The retailer incentive bonus increases by $2,000 each time Fantasy 5 rolls. If more than one winning jackpot ticket is sold, the retailers selling the winning jackpot tickets will share the bonus. CITGO Food Mart will receive a $2,000 retailer incentive bonus.
