ATLANTA – A Walmart worker from Enigma is greeting a Georgia Lottery prize. Sylvia Walker, 55, matched all five winning numbers in the March 17 Fantasy 5 drawing and was one of two players to win $311,556 each.
Walker, who works at a Walmart in Douglas, was shocked and happy to discover her win
“We couldn’t sleep,” she said.
Married with three children, Walker plans to pay bills and pay off her new car.
Winning numbers from the March 17 Fantasy 5 drawing were: 6-17-18-23-24.
Walker, who randomly selected the combination, purchased her top prize ticket at Sunny Food Mart, 2473 U.S. Highway 82 E., Tifton.
The second top prize for the drawing was won by Billie Crawley of Macon, a first-time lottery player. She purchased her ticket in Warner Robins.
Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corp. has returned more than $12.3 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs, including Georgia’s HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia’s Pre-K Program.
