ATLANTA – The Happy Meal has gotten even happier for one Covington man. Christopher Hamilton, 26, won $52,000 when he scratched a Georgia Lottery instant ticket at a McDonald’s drive-thru.
“I had just ordered,” he said. “I was waiting behind two cars. That’s when I started scratching.
Hamilton was stunned to discover that he struck gold at the Golden Arches.
“I was going crazy in my truck,” he said.
A cable company service technician, Hamilton plans to pay bills, help his mother and “splurge just a little bit.”
Hamilton won playing Weekly Bonus, a new instant game with top prizes of $1,000 a week for a year.
Quick Spot #0036, located at 10260 Highway 36 in Covington, sold the lucky ticket.
