ATLANTA – A Fort Stewart man headed home from a collegiate journey has picked up a half-million dollar win from the Georgia Lottery. Khot Souimaniphanh, 39, won a $500,000 top prize playing the instant game Cash Deluxe.
Souimaniphanh had taken his son to college orientation in Dawsonville when he stopped at Chevron Food Mart, 104 Highway 400 S. in Dawsonville, and purchased a ticket.
“I just walked in there looking for a ticket and that was the one,” the lucky winner said.
Souimaniphanh bought it on his way home and scratched it in Fort Stewart.
He claimed his prize Wednesday at the Georgia Lottery District Office in Savannah.
