ATLANTA – A grocery store in Columbus has sold a winning Mega Millions ticket worth $1 million.
Winn Dixie Store #0482, located at 1100 Hunt Ave. in Columbus, sold a Mega Millions ticket from the Dec. 17 drawing that matched the first five winning numbers.
Reginald McCoy of Columbus claimed his prize on Tuesday at the Georgia Lottery District Office in Columbus.
Winning numbers from the drawing were: 8-14-17-20-39 and the Mega Ball was 7.
Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corp. has returned more than $14.9 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs, including Georgia’s HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia’s Pre-K Program. More than 1.6 million students have received HOPE, and more than 1.3 million 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
