ATLANTA – Two metro Atlanta co-workers are jumping for joy, having split a tremendous Georgia Lottery prize. Exlon Hall III of Decatur and Kenya Jones of Norcross won $1 million playing the instant game Million $$ Match.
“It really wasn’t a shocker for us,” said Hall, 35. “We started playing about three years ago, and we’ve always talked about hitting it big.”
OM, 5910 Jimmy Carter Blvd. in Norcross, sold the winning ticket.
The two, who work for an electrical company, each claimed their portion of the prize Thursday at Georgia Lottery headquarters in Atlanta.
“We scratched it off during our lunch break,” said Jones, 34. “I felt good about the ticket because I’d won $250 two weeks earlier.”
Both Hall and Jones intend to purchase new homes with their portion.
Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corp. has returned more than $15.7 billion to the state of Georgia for education.
