ATLANTA – A Madison County man has put on the brakes to receive a new vehicle from the Georgia Lottery. Timothy Poole of Carlton has won a 2015 Cadillac SRX plus $48,941 playing the instant game Cadillac Riches.
Poole, 44, credits his good fortune to his “good luck doll.”
“Ever since I brought it home, I’ve been on a winning streak,” he said of the little wooden figure. “I’ve won $100 several times and one $500 prize on scratchers, and then the Cadillac.”
Georgia Lottery representatives presented Poole, an exterminator, with keys to his new vehicle at Heritage Cadillac, 7134 Jonesboro Road in Morrow.
“I’ll use the money to pay off bills and buy my 16-yaer-old daughter a used car,” he said.
Sandy Cross Grocery Store, 815 Lexington Carlton Road in Carlton, sold the winning ticket.
Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corp. has returned more than $15.7 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs, including Georgia’s HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia’s Pre-K Program. More than 1.7 million students have received HOPE, and more than 1.3 million 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
