ATLANTA – A lucky construction worker is stunned having won a stellar prize from the Georgia Lottery. Anthony Miner-Mauricio of Athens won a $250,000 top prize playing the instant game Monopoly Millionaires’ Club.
The 20-year-old purchased his winning ticket at Shell Food Mart, 4580 Winters Chapel Road in Doraville.
“I pulled in to buy gas with a few extra dollars I had,” he said.
Miner-Mauricio scratched the ticket while at home.
“I looked at it 10 times and took it back to a gas station,” he said. “I didn’t believe it at first.”
Miner-Mauricio also is a college student and intends to finish his studies at the University of North Georgia in Dahlonega.
Monopoly Millionaires’ Club is a Georgia Lottery instant game with top prizes of $250,000.
Players can enter their non-winning tickets into the Monopoly Millionaires’ Club Second Chance Promotion for a chance to win a trip to Las Vegas and be a contestant on a national TV game show.
