ATLANTA – Multistate games Mega Millions and Powerball are offering a chance for players to pick prized multi-million jackpots for Friday and Saturday’s drawings.
The Mega Millions jackpot for Friday’s drawing has reached a whopping $194 million to a single annuity winner. The Powerball jackpot for Saturday’s drawing is a tremendous $138 million to a single annuity winner.
Continuous rolls have produced massive jackpots, drumming up excitement across Georgia.
The Mega Millions jackpot has grown since March 27 and has rolled 16 times.
One winning ticket worth $5,000 was sold in Columbus from Tuesday’s drawing.
Mega Millions offers two jackpot payment options: the $194 million annuity prize paid out as one immediate payment followed by 29 annual graduated payments; or the cash option, which is approximately $117 million.
It only takes $1 to play Mega Millions for a chance to win big. Players can multiply prizes with the Megaplier option for an additional $1 per play.
The Powerball jackpot has grown since April 22 and has rolled nine times.
Powerball offers two jackpot payment options: the $138 million jackpot prize paid over 29 years in 30 graduated payments; or the cash option, which is approximately $86 million. Powerball tickets are $2 per play.
As with all other Georgia Lottery games, proceeds from Mega Millions and Powerball will benefit education in the state of Georgia.
Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corp. has returned more than $16.2 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs, including Georgia’s HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia’s Pre-K Program. More than 1.7 million students have received HOPE, and more than 1.3 million 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
