ATLANTA – An Alabama woman is warming up to her million-dollar Georgia Lottery prize. Faye Loudermillk of Grant, Ala., won a $1 million top prize playing the instant game 50X The Money.
Georgia Lottery representatives presented Loudermillk with an oversized check Wednesday at PSM Food Mart, 707 Highway 299 in Wildwood, the store that sold the lucky ticket.
“I just went for a drive,” said Loudermillk, 38. “The ticket is one of my favorites.”
A U.S. Postal Service truck driver, Loudermillk held onto the ticket for nearly two weeks before scratching it.
“It got left in the car,” she explained. “It was in the glove box.”
She claimed her prize Oct. 27 at the Georgia Lottery District Office in Dalton.
“It still hasn’t sunk in yet,” the lucky winner said. “I want to pay off bills.”
Loudermillk and her husband, Jerry, together have six children.
