ATLANTA – A Savannah Montessori teacher is upbeat, especially since winning a quarter-million dollar prize from the Georgia Lottery. Alana Brown, 31, played the instant game $7,500 a Week for Life, winning a $250,000 prize.
JC Quick Stop Inc., 1024 U.S. Highway 80 E. in Pooler, sold the winning ticket, and Brown scratched it in the store.
“Honestly, I didn’t know what think,” she recalled. “I couldn’t believe it, so I went back to work.”
Brown claimed her prize Nov. 12 at the Georgia Lottery District Office in Savannah.
As the holidays approach, Brown and her husband, Jimmy, are excited for the future.
“I’m grateful and thankful,” she said.
