ATLANTA – One lucky Rossville man is nestling into a brand new vehicle courtesy of the Georgia Lottery. Earl Ayers II, 48, was selected as a winner from the Jackpot Series Second Chance Promotion, winning a 2015 Kia Optima EX.
Ayers was awarded his vehicle Monday at Ed Voyles Kia, 2145 Cobb Parkway SE in Smyrna.
“My wife saw my name on the Internet. She freaked out, hollering,” he said of his wife, Dea. “I thought she tricked me. When I saw it, I was totally shocked.”
A father of three, Ayers is a maintenance supervisor for the Chattanooga Housing Authority.
Jackpot Series is a family of Georgia Lottery instant games with prizes ranging from $50,000 to $3 million.
Ticket prices for the games are $1, $2, $5 and $20.
Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corp. has returned more than $16.5 billion to the state of Georgia for education.
