ATLANTA – A Milledgeville man is celebrating a big win from the Georgia Lottery. Gregory Millner, 51, won a $100,000 Powerball prize from the July 2 drawing, having matched four numbers plus the Powerball.
Millner bought one ticket, forgot about it, and then purchased a second ticket with the same combination. His lucky combination included his birthday and a set of old Quik Pik numbers.
“I bought a Quik Pik ticket a long time ago and continued to play it,” Millner said.
Johnnie McDades Grocery, 1765 Vinson Highway SE in Milledgeville, sold both winning tickets.
He was shocked to discover he’d won $50,000 twice.
A father of three and grandfather of five, Millner plans to purchase a home, pay off bills and save the remainder for his children and grandchildren.
The winning numbers from the July 2 Powerball drawing were: 10-34-39-59-63 and the Powerball was 4.
