ATLANTA – A Fantasy 5 Quik Pik has delivered an exponential prize to one lucky Jefferson grandfather. Douglas Martin, 67, matched all five winning numbers from the Feb. 27 drawing, winning the $626,099 top prize.
Martin claimed his prize May 12 at the Georgia Lottery’s District Office in Duluth.
“I checked my numbers at the store where I always stop,” he said. “Sure enough that was it!”
Arcade Shell, 3226 Athens Highway in Jefferson, sold the winning ticket.
Winning numbers from the Feb. 27 drawing were: 8-11-32-33-39.
The grandfather of three has two adult children with his wife, Shelia.
A farmer of chicken, cattle and hay, Martin intends to purchase a new tractor.
"I’m excited,” he exclaimed.
