ATLANTA – A lucky Georgia Lottery player has 82 million reasons to be thankful this Thanksgiving. Someone purchased a Mega Millions ticket worth $82 million at a Marietta store for Friday’s drawing.
The winning numbers from Friday’s jackpot drawing were: 31-32-49-55-58 and the Mega Ball was 15.
White Water Chevron, 334 Cobb Parkway S, sold the winning ticket.
Mega Millions winners in Georgia have 180 days from the draw date to claim prizes.
Georgia has been a recent lottery hot spot with two large jackpot prizes claimed in October.
William and Heather ten Broeke of Atlanta came forward last month as winners of a $246.8 million jackpot prize from the Sept. 17 Powerball drawing.
Christina Ford of Dallas, Ga. won $7.5 million as one of two jackpot winners in the July 22 Mega Millions drawing. She also claimed her prize in October.
Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corp. has returned more than $17.8 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs, including Georgia’s HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia’s Pre-K Program. More than 1.4 million students have received HOPE, and more than 1.1 million 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
