ATLANTA – Dawn Wood of Milledgeville is in shipshape condition after playing a Georgia Lottery instant ticket game. Wood, 47, won a $325,000 top prize playing the Gold scratcher.
Quik Stop #0003, 2653 N. Columbia St., Milledgeville, sold the winning ticket.
Wood said that she had just gotten off of work and stopped to refuel on gas when she unexpectedly won.
“I scratched the ticket, and it said I was a winner,” she said. “I couldn’t believe it.”
After confirming that she was indeed a winner, Wood said that she and her sister celebrated while sitting in the car in the store’s parking lot.
“She was sitting right next to me,” she said. “We were screaming and acting like fools.”
Wood intends to use some of her winnings to purchase some property and a car.
“I’m really grateful,” she said. “It couldn’t have come at a better time.”
Wood claimed her prize at the Georgia Lottery’s Macon District Office.
