ATLANTA – Melissa DeShazer of Macon has won a fantastic prize playing a Georgia Lottery instant ticket game. DeShazer, 45, won $50,000 playing the Cashtastic scratcher.
Tom’s Food Mart, 811 Pio Nono Ave. in Macon, sold the ticket.
DeShazer said that she was at work when she discovered that she had a winning ticket.
“I asked my co-worker to check to see if I was looking at my ticket correctly,” she said. “I couldn’t believe it.”
After confirming that she was indeed a winner, DeShazer said that she immediately called her family so that she could share her news.
“I told my daughter, my parents and my brother,” she said. “Everyone was excited.”
Deshazer, a radio dispatcher clerk, plans to use her winnings to pay some bills.
The lucky winner claimed her prize Tuesday at the Georgia Lottery Macon District Office.
