ATLANTA – Friday’s Mega Millions jackpot has leapt to an impressive $421 million – the fifth largest jackpot in the game’s history.
The Mega Millions jackpot has grown since Jan. 9 and has rolled 21 times. Mega Millions offers two jackpot payment options: the $421 million annuity prize paid out as one immediate payment followed by 29 annual graduated payments; or the cash option, which is approximately $250 million.
Georgia Lottery players have been on a roll winning Mega Millions prizes.
One winning ticket worth $10,000 was sold in Social Circle for the March 20 drawing. The ticket was purchased at BP, located at 387 Highway 11 N.
In addition, two tickets worth $10,000 each were sold in Columbus and Lawrenceville for the March 16 drawing. The winning tickets were purchased at Raceway #6725, located at 4421 Victory Drive in Columbus, and Texaco, located at 2346 Lawrenceville Highway in Lawrenceville.
Winners have not come forward to claim the prizes yet.
It only takes $2 to play Mega Millions for a chance to win big. Mega Millions players can multiply prizes with the Megaplier option for an additional $1 per play. Mega Millions also offers a new optional $3 wager Just the Jackpot that allows players to receive two entries for a chance to win the game’s jackpot prize only.
Mega Millions tickets can be purchased at Georgia Lottery retailers statewide. Georgia residents also can purchase Mega Millions tickets via the Georgia Lottery app or online at www.galottery.com.
As with all other Georgia Lottery games, proceeds from Mega Millions will benefit education in the state of Georgia.
Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corp. has returned more than $19.2 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs, including Georgia’s HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia’s Pre-K Program. More than 1.8 million students have received HOPE, and more than 1.6 million 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
