ATLANTA – Mega Millions grew overnight to a whopping $548 million, and Georgia Lottery players statewide have been winning big in the midst of the excitement.
Four winning tickets worth $10,000 each were sold in Chamblee, Newnan, St. Simons Island and Woodstock in the Oct. 5 and Oct. 9 drawings. In addition, a $20,000 ticket also was sold in East Point for the Oct. 5 drawing.
Winning numbers from the Oct. 9 drawing were: 20-22-39-54-60 and the Mega Ball was 18.
The winning tickets were sold at Texaco, located at 4930 Peachtree Road in Chamblee, and Chevron, located at 15 McCollum Parkway in Newnan.
Winning numbers from the Oct. 5 drawing were: 27-28-32-41-69 and the Mega Ball was 12.
The $20,000 ticket was purchased in East Point at East Point Convenience Store, located at 1595 White Way. The $10,000 tickets were purchased at Parker’s Village, located at 501 Ocean Blvd. in St. Simons Island, and West Mart, located at 9411 Hickory Flat Highway in Woodstock.
The Woodstock ticket was claimed Tuesday at the Georgia Lottery’s Duluth District Office. Winners have not come forward to claim the other prizes yet.
Mega Millions winners have 180 days from the draw date to claim prizes.
Mega Millions tickets can be purchased at Georgia Lottery retailers statewide. Georgia residents also can purchase Mega Millions tickets via the Georgia Lottery app or online at www.galottery.com.
As with all other Georgia Lottery games, proceeds from Mega Millions will benefit education in the state of Georgia.
Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corp. has returned more than $19.8 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs, including Georgia’s HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia’s Pre-K Program. More than 1.8 million students have received HOPE, and more than 1.6 million 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
