ATLANTA – Georgia Lottery players are beginning to catch jackpot fever as Friday’s Mega Millions jackpot increases to $339 million and winning Mega Millions tickets are sold statewide.
The Mega Millions jackpot has grown since March 15 and has rolled 18 times.
Friday’s Mega Millions jackpot offers two payment options: the $339 million annuity prize paid out as one immediate payment followed by 29 annual graduated payments; or the cash option, which is approximately $210 million.
Winning tickets totaling $1.09 million were sold in metro Atlanta, Columbus and Tallapoosa for the May 10 and 14 Mega Millions drawings.
Winning numbers from the May 10 drawing were: 3-16-21-61-62 and the Mega Ball was 19.
One ticket worth $1 million was sold in Atlanta and purchased at Cascade Food Mart, located at 1072 Cascade Road.
Two additional tickets worth $10,000 each also were sold in Norcross and Tallapoosa. The tickets were purchased at Publix Super Market #722, located at 7736 Spalding Drive in Norcross, and Robinson & Sons, located at 14 Commerce Place in Tallapoosa.
Winning numbers from the May 14 drawing were: 11-59-66-67-68 and the Mega Ball was 18.
One ticket worth $40,000 was sold in Columbus and purchased at Quik Stop, located at 2206 2nd Ave.
In addition, three tickets worth $10,000 each were sold. The tickets were purchased at: 7 to 7 Newsstand, located at 600 W. Peachtree St. in Atlanta; Circle K #6678, located at 215 4th St. in Columbus; and online at www.galottery.com.
It only takes $2 to play Mega Millions for a chance to win big. Mega Millions players can multiply prizes with the Megaplier option for an additional $1 per play. Mega Millions also offers an optional $3 wager Just the Jackpot that allows players to receive two entries for a chance to win the game’s jackpot prize only.
Mega Millions tickets can be purchased at Georgia Lottery retailers statewide. Georgia residents also can purchase Mega Millions tickets via the Georgia Lottery app or online at www.galottery.com.
As with all other Georgia Lottery games, proceeds from Mega Millions will benefit education in the state of Georgia.
Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corp. has returned more than $20.7 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs, including Georgia’s HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia’s Pre-K Program. More than 1.8 million students have received HOPE, and more than 1.6 million 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
