ATLANTA - Andrew Bennett has already benefited greatly from the Georgia Lottery through his daughter’s use of a HOPE scholarship and his grandson’s enrollment in a lottery-funded prekindergarten program. Mr. Bennett received even more when he purchased one of two winning tickets in the June 17 Fantasy 5 drawing and won $105,256.
The Sugar Hill computer programmer used a combination of birthdays from various family members to choose his numbers. The winning numbers for the June 17 drawing were: 7-8-10-15-31.
Mr. Bennett and his wife, Jacqueline, plan to use their winnings to perform some home improvements.
Publix Super Market #0615, located at 1000 Peachtree Industrial Blvd. in Suwanee, sold the winning ticket. The other winning ticket was sold in Duluth.
Georgia Lottery retailers selling winning Fantasy 5 tickets receive a retailer incentive bonus of $2,000. The retailer incentive bonus increases by $2,000 each time Fantasy 5 rolls. If more than one winning top prize ticket is sold, the retailers selling the top prize winning tickets will share the bonus. Publix Super Market will receive a retailer incentive bonus of $3,000.
Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corporation has returned over $7.4 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs. These include Georgia’s HOPE scholarship program; a statewide, voluntary pre-kindergarten program for four-year-olds; and a wide range of technological and capital upgrades for the state’s schools, technical institutes, colleges, universities and public libraries.
