ATLANTA – Travis Maddox of Acworth won $7,777 playing the Georgia Lottery instant game Cool 7’s.
The Acworth Power System lineman said he’s ecstatic that he won. He purchased the winning ticket from Quik Thrift #0854, 5473 N. Main St., in Acworth.
"I just bought coffee, a newspaper and a lotto ticket," he said. "I looked at the ticket three times, looked again and saw it was a winner."
Maddox, 40, said he plans to finish remodeling his home.
“I feel pretty good,” he said.
Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corporation has returned over $8.8 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs including Georgia's HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia's Prekindergarten Program. More than 1 million students have received HOPE, and more than 790,000 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
