ATLANTA – Douglas County is a Georgia Lottery hot spot. Three $10,000 tickets for the new Georgia Lottery game Decades of Dollars were purchased recently in the area.
Bruce Miller of Austell got the ball rolling with a $10,000 win in the March 7 drawing. He purchased his ticket at Racetrac #0636, 656 Thornton Road, Lithia Springs.
“It feels great,” Miller said. “I’m going to take care of some bills.”
Lithia Springs resident Jyoti Joshi won $10,000 in the March 10 drawing. Her ticket was purchased at Lithia Springs Texaco, 8984 Veterans Memorial Highway, Lithia Springs.
On March 14, Curtis Fabio of Douglasville won $10,000. Circle K #1882, located at 5785 W. Stewarts Mill Road in Douglasville, sold his lucky ticket.
Decades of Dollars is a multi-state game played in Georgia, Kentucky and Virginia. The game offers a top prize of $250,000 a year for 30 years and a $10,000 second prize. Drawings are held at 11 p.m. Mondays and Thursdays. Tickets cost $2 per play.
Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corp. has returned more than $12.3 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs, including Georgia’s HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia’s Pre-K Program. More than 1.3 million students have received HOPE, and more than 1.1 million 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
