ATLANTA – The first time was the charm for a lucky Macon woman. Billie Crawley, 45, played the lottery for the first time and won $311,556.
“I am so happy,” she exclaimed.
Crawley won the prize as one of two players who matched all five winning numbers in the March 17 Fantasy 5 drawing.
“I don’t even play,” said Crawley. “I was in Warner Robins visiting my son, and my son’s father convinced me to play.”
Crawley randomly selected the winning combination: 6-17-18-23-24.
“It’s just unreal,” she said. “I keep thinking I’m going to wake up. I don’t know what to do with myself.”
A bartender at a Macon restaurant, Crawley plans to save, help her family, and take a trip to Savannah.
Crawley purchased her top prize ticket at Fastop, 750 Russell Parkway, Warner Robins.
The second top prize for the March 17 drawing was won by Sylvia Walker of Enigma, who works at a Walmart in Douglas. Walker bought her ticket in Tifton.
