ATLANTA – Telling customers about having sold a winning Fantasy 5 jackpot ticket makes sense, according to one Atlanta store manager. M. Rashedil Hasan of CITGO Food Mart, 2060 Peachtree Road N.W. in Atlanta, said more people are playing the Georgia Lottery since selling a winning $243,000 Fantasy 5 ticket.
“It’s good for us,” he said. “That will let people know that we have winners.”
Maurice Perrson of Atlanta claimed his $243,503 Fantasy 5 prize Monday at Georgia Lottery headquarters. He matched all five winning numbers from the Feb. 26 drawing. Winning numbers were: 2-9-13-24-25.
Hasan said the store also sold a $200,000 prize in 2007.
“I have a lot of people that come in here,” he said. “We’re really lucky.”
Georgia Lottery retailers selling winning Fantasy 5 jackpot tickets receive a retailer incentive bonus of $2,000. The retailer incentive bonus increases by $2,000 each time Fantasy 5 rolls. If more than one winning jackpot ticket is sold, the retailers selling the winning jackpot tickets will share the bonus. CITGO Food Mart will receive a $6,000 retailer incentive bonus.
Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corp. has returned more than $12.3 billion to the state of Georgia for education.
