ATLANTA – Walter Woods of Clayton County has won a hefty Georgia Lottery prize. Woods, who lives in Riverdale, matched all winning numbers in the June 18 Fantasy 5 drawing, winning a $305,429 jackpot prize.
Woods, 50, received a free ticket from a previous Fantasy 5 drawing that resulted in his win.
He received his lucky Quik Pik ticket from Chevron Food Mart, 6455 Highway 85 in Riverdale.
Woods claimed his prize Tuesday at Georgia Lottery headquarters in Atlanta.
“I woke up this morning and saw the winning numbers on the news,” he exclaimed. “I shouted out.”
The lucky winner, who works in security and in lawn care, said he anticipates purchasing a new home and taking care of his three children.
Winning numbers from the June 18 Fantasy 5 drawing were: 14-15-18-32-36.
Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corp. has returned more than $13.4 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs, including Georgia’s HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia’s Pre-K Program. More than 1.4 million students have received HOPE, and more than 1.1 million 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
