ATLANTA – A gas station in Marietta has sold a winning Georgia Lottery ticket worth over a quarter of a million dollars. East Marietta Chevron, located at 1501 Roswell Road, sold the winning ticket worth $258,900 from Tuesday’s Fantasy 5 drawing.
The winner, Babak Tashakur, a resident of Marietta, claimed his prize Wednesday at the Georgia Lottery’s headquarters in Atlanta.
There were two other players who each won $258,900 in Tuesday’s drawing. These tickets were sold in Austell and Cochran. The winning Fantasy 5 numbers from Tuesday were: 13-18-21-25-34.
Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corp. has returned more than $16 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs, including Georgia’s HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia’s Pre-K Program. More than 1.7 million students have received HOPE, and more than 1.3 million 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
