ATLANTA – A winning Georgia Lottery ticket worth $1 million was sold in Habersham County. R K Foods, located at 1194 W. Currahee St. in Toccoa, sold a winning Powerball Quik Pik ticket that matched the first five winning numbers from the Jan. 28 drawing.
The winner, Walter Vaughn of Demorest, claimed his prize Feb. 12 at the Georgia Lottery District Office in Duluth.
Winning numbers from the Jan. 28 Powerball drawing were: 12-24-35-36-49 and the Powerball was 1.
Wednesday’s Powerball jackpot is an estimated $70 million to a single annuity winner.
Powerball tickets are $2 per play.
Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corp. has returned more than $16 billion to the state of Georgia for education.
