ATLANTA – A gas station in Columbus has sold a winning Georgia Lottery instant ticket worth three-quarters of a million dollars. Fuel Tech Food Mart, located at 314 5th St., sold a winning ticket worth $750,000 from the new instant game Lady Luck 7.
The winner, George Weaver of Smiths Station, Ala., claimed his prize Feb. 5 at the Georgia Lottery’s District Office in Columbus.
Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corp. has returned more than $16 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs, including Georgia’s HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia’s Pre-K Program. More than 1.7 million students have received HOPE, and more than 1.3 million 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
