ATLANTA – Ample jackpot prizes are up for grabs from Mega Millions and Powerball. The Mega Millions jackpot is an estimated $214 million to a single annuity winner for tonight’s drawing. The Powerball jackpot is an estimated $154 million to a single annuity winner for Wednesday’s drawing.
The Mega Millions jackpot has grown since March 27 and has rolled 17 times.
Four winning tickets worth $5,000 were sold in Covington, Hampton, Milton and Athens from Friday’s drawing.
Mega Millions offers two jackpot payment options: the $214 million annuity prize paid out as one immediate payment followed by 29 annual graduated payments; or the cash option, which is approximately $131 million.
It only takes $1 to play Mega Millions for a chance to win big. Players can multiply prizes with the Megaplier option for an additional $1 per play.
The Powerball jackpot has grown since April 22 and has rolled 10 times.
Two winning tickets worth $10,000 were sold in Winder and Hahira from Saturday’s drawing.
Powerball offers two jackpot payment options: the $154 million jackpot prize paid over 29 years in 30 graduated payments; or the cash option, which is approximately $96 million. Powerball tickets are $2 per play.
As with all other Georgia Lottery games, proceeds from Mega Millions and Powerball will benefit education in the state of Georgia.
Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corp. has returned more than $16.2 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs, including Georgia’s HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia’s Pre-K Program. More than 1.7 million students have received HOPE, and more than 1.3 million 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
