ATLANTA – One Marietta woman is all smiles, especially since winning a plentiful prize from the Georgia Lottery. Donna Williams, 52, played the instant game Color Me Rich and won a $700,000 top prize.
Georgia Lottery representatives presented Williams with an oversized check Wednesday at One Stop #0616, 677 Concord Road SE in Smyrna, the store where she purchased the winning ticket.
She and her husband, Pete, stopped at the gas station after dinner on April 8 and bought four Georgia Lottery instant tickets.
“I was in total disbelief,” she said.
With her winnings, Williams intends to purchase a service dog for herself.
Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corp. has returned more than $17.36 billion to the state of Georgia for education.
