ATLANTA – One lucky Tennessean is celebrating a win from the Georgia Lottery. Sammy Summers of Jasper, Tenn., played the instant game Jumbo Bucks Classic – Anniversary Edition, winning a $75,000 top prize.
Summers, 74, claimed his prize April 14 at the Georgia Lottery District Office in Dalton.
“I purchased this ticket and scratched it in the store,” the grandfather of two said.
Mapco Express #3503, 955 Highway 299 in Wildwood, sold the winning ticket.
The lucky winner said the experience felt like a dream.
“I was numb. The clerk said, ‘Go and sit down.’ It was exciting to say the least,” Summers recalled. “I’ve never won anything, so I’m still kind of numb.”
An insurance sales agent, Summers considers his windfall special.
“I want to pay bills and ‘rabbit hole’ some of it,” he said.
In addition to his two grandsons, Summers has two adult children.
