ATLANTA – A convenience store in Buena Vista has sold a Georgia Lottery ticket with a whopping top prize. New Buena Vista Foods, located at 101 S. Broad St., sold a Color Me Rich instant ticket with a $700,000 top prize.
The winner, Joe West of Buena Vista, claimed his prize March 28 at the Georgia Lottery’s District Office in Columbus.
Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corp. has returned more than $17 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs, including Georgia’s HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia’s Pre-K Program. More than 1.7 million students have received HOPE, and more than 1.4 million 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
