ATLANTA – A Jefferson woman has amassed a win worth nearly a half-million dollars from the Georgia Lottery. Dawn Ferry, 48, is one of two winners from the April 10 Fantasy 5 drawing to match all five numbers, each winning a $479,532 jackpot prize.
Winning numbers from the April 10 Fantasy 5 drawing were: 9-10-20-21-29.
Dry Pond Country Store, 4661 Highway 82 N. in Commerce, sold the winning ticket. The second jackpot-winning ticket was sold in Bloomingdale.
Ferry said that she selected her own winning combination, which included her mother’s birthday, her own birthday and the birth months of her nephew, niece and sister.
“The last two numbers, 20 and 21, were random,” she said. “They’re a part of my favorite numbers now.”
Following the televised drawing, Ferry checked the results of the drawing on the Georgia Lottery’s Mobile App.
“I kept saying, ‘There’s absolutely no way,’ ” she recalled. “I’m still in a little bit of a shock.”
With her winnings, Ferry intends to invest and save.
“I’m looking forward to retirement,” she said.
Ferry claimed her prize April 11 at the Georgia Lottery’s District Office in Duluth.
