ATLANTA – A Richmond Hill man recently won a hefty slice of the Nov. 26 Powerball. Vincent Faison won $100,000 Saturday by playing Powerball with Power Play.
The winning numbers from the Nov. 26 Powerball drawing were: 17-19-21-37-44 and the Powerball was 16. The Power Play multiplier was 2X.
Faison, 59, matched four numbers plus the Powerball and doubled the $50,000 prize amount by selecting the Power Play option. The lucky winner realized that he won after remembering to check the game results on his cellphone three days later.
“I didn’t know I’d won,” he said. “The only word that can describe how I’m feeling right now is ‘spellbound.’”
Faison, a retired corrections officer, intends to use his winnings to pay off some bills and invest in land.
“I’m just really happy,” he said.
Publix Super Market #1154, 12800 Highway 144 E., Richmond Hill, sold the winning ticket.
Faison claimed his prize Tuesday at the Savannah Georgia Lottery District Office.
The jackpot for Saturday’s Powerball drawing is an estimated $54 million to a single annuity winner with a $32.7 million cash option.
As with all other Georgia Lottery games, proceeds from Powerball will benefit education in the state of Georgia.
Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corp. has returned more than $17.8 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs, including Georgia’s HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia’s Pre-K Program.
